Self confidence and self esteem should begins in childhood, parents should support child's self-esteem growth from time to time to get the best result. Let's see the 3 simple factors in gaining self confidence and self esteem.

1 - Improve the leadership within yourself

If you have a skill that is capable of raising their self-confidence, once you raise your self-confidence self-esteem will grow. As your self-esteem increases your confidence grows, and this increases your self-esteem, increases self-confidence, raising self-esteem. An endless cycle of improvement.

Look at yourself, your inner self, what are your strengths? Find what you can do, what skills you have and you can use. If you do not think you have a skill, you're wrong. Can you cook for yourself, you can wash your own clothes, clean your own house, mow your own backyard? These are skills that can be used now, you do not have to be a rocket surgeon to develop self-confidence.

2 - Treasure the things that you had

Therefore, it is with all the things you do, do the best you can with what you have and your self-confidence seems, as soon realize you can do something without having to get permission from others to do so. Celebrate your life is your life to live, no one can live your life for you. If I take a shower you smell better? So you see that is your life, you can live the way you want.

Look for things that make you feel good about yourself, pictures of you, your friends, the books that you like, the color of an object, the smell of a flower. These things make you feel good. Every time you make a mistake, and we all do, just remember one of those things that makes you feel good and move on.

3 - Seek for support and mentoring

Something to give yourself is some support. Listen to your own self talk. We all talk of self, where we tell ourselves things especially when no one else around. What do you say to yourself? If you are criticizing, you need to stop, ask yourself why you criticize, then be forced to start being compassionate with yourself.

This may sound a bit the other side of things, but it is true that self-esteem, is controlled by you. Start saying to yourself, when you make a mistake remember that it was an opportunity to learn, not a doomsday event.

17-year-old guy(me) with MAJOR girl problems! Please HELP!?
Im a 17-year-old guy in the 11th grade with major girl problems, and I mean MAJOR. I have an incredibly hard time talking to girls. In 6th grade I used to have no problem with talking to girls, I could spark a conversation with a total stranger and become friends within a few days and that was back when I was very overweight for my age. But during 7th grade my mom took me into the doctor to check if I had ADD and I did. I started to take ADD meds a month after the diagnosis. Although it helped me incredibly in my academics and my grades rose significantly, my ability to talk to girls slowly diminished each preceding year up until now where it's to the point where I only talk to a girl for about 10 minutes once a week and have to be forced into it by the girl. I think my meds (which I am still taking) had something to do with it because it basically makes me look emotionally drained/ like a zombie and It's hard for my real personality to come through. I'm a jock and hang out with the most popular kids in school, and I have absolutely no trouble making new friends with guys(sounds kind of homosexual but it's not). A few reason why I have trouble talking to girls now: 1. I only talk to girls who I think are attractive. 2. Girls dress so sexy these day's it's hard for me to see them as a person when I only think of their body. 3. I am extremely self conscious even though I am 100x more attractive then I was in 6th grade and am one of the most attractive kids in my grade(looks wise). ( Ill put a picture of me at the end) 4. I have very low self-confidence and self-esteem. I just need some good solid REALISTIC tips/help/guidance from someone who is not just looking for a best answer but is looking to sincerely help me out. I wouldn't have typed this whole thing if It wasn't such a major problem in my life. I need REAL advice and not just tips of a cheesy website. Dealing with rejection issues, self esteem and confidence as an adult?
How does an adult deal with such issues? The littlest things, comments or actions, can set me back, instantly lower my self confidence and self esteem, etc. I am an adult male and I should just let these things roll right off, but I am having trouble lately. As a child and young teen, I dealt with a lot of rejection, father leaving family, mentally abusive stepfather, being severely made fun of in middle school, etc, and I feel these issues are coming back around again. I grew up in a small midwestern town with a lot of small minded people too, i think. Since finishing college, I lived in a major East Coast city, accomplished a lot, and my self confidence and esteem really grew. I felt like I had left that insecure child of my past behind. Now just turning 30, I have 2 kids and moved my family back to the midwest for a simpler and easier life in raising kids. I am back in my home town, around some of the same friends I grew up with, work with a small group of 'good ol boy' buddies who are the typical small minded midwestern people I referenced above (remind me of high school mentalities). We've been back for nearly 2 years now, and I feel all these past insecurities of rejection, self esteem and confidence issues, coming back. I wonder if it is just because I returned to the former settting where all the bad parts of my life happened, and it is starting to get to me again, or possibly some difficulties in my marrigae that my wife and I have just recently successfully resolved, or what. But my main question is to seek advice, where to turn for help on becoming 'internally stronger" and more confident, etc with books, hear from people with similar experiences, etc. Thanks
